Soybean Varieties' Disease Ratings--2013
Dr. Tom Allen, Extension Plant Pathologist at DREC-Stoneville, has posted Frogeye Leaf Spot (FLS) and Cercospora Blight (CB) ratings for MG IV and MG V soybean varieties that were in the Mississippi Soybean Variety Trials in 2013.
Varieties were rated based on a scale of 0 to 9, where 0 = no disease present and 9 = extreme disease characterized by leaves covered with FLS, or where leaves as well as pods and petioles were covered with purple/black discoloration (CB).
The ratings are based on varieties’ reaction to natural infestations of each disease at each location. According to Dr. Allen, consider the reaction of a particular variety across several locations when assessing that variety’s susceptibility to either disease. For the most part, varieties considered to be susceptible to FLS were susceptible at all locations.
I have combined the 12 individual tables of ratings into one document and posted it here on this website.
