Zalo--A New Premix Herbicide for Soybeans
AMVAC Chemical Corp. has developed Zalo herbicide, a premix of glufosinate [Group 10 herbicide] and quizalofop-P-ethyl [Group 1 herbicide] active ingredients. The Group 1 herbicide in the mix is the active ingredient in Assure II, a grass herbicide from AMVAC. Click here for the Zalo label.
Zalo offers two different modes of action in the same container. The Group 1 component is added to augment the control of grass weeds that is provided by the Group 10 ingredient glufosinate. This in effect provides a second way of killing grass weeds. Thus, this premix offers broad spectrum control of both broadleaf and grass weeds. Postemergence applications of this herbicide should only be made to soybean varieties that are glufosinate-tolerant.
Zalo herbicide has received federal registration. Click here for states that have registered this product for use in the 2024 crop year and beyond [note that this product has been registered for use in all Midsouth states].
