Improving Agronomic Efficiency for Mississippi Soybean Producers

Investigators

Objectives

To quantify soybean response to precision planting technologies.

  1. To increase planting speed into residue
  2. Identify harvest management strategies to improve grain quality
  3. To increase fertilizer use efficiency
  4. Develop strategies to improve cover crop management in soybean systems

Expected End Results

If the technology works, a considerable benefit is the reduced time required to plant, such that more acres can be planted on time, with a concomitant yield increase due to timely planting. Additional savings may be achieved using lower seeding rates.
