Improving Agronomic Efficiency for Mississippi Soybean Producers
Investigators
Objectives
To quantify soybean response to precision planting technologies.
- To increase planting speed into residue
- Identify harvest management strategies to improve grain quality
- To increase fertilizer use efficiency
- Develop strategies to improve cover crop management in soybean systems
Expected End Results
If the technology works, a considerable benefit is the reduced time required to plant, such that more acres can be planted on time, with a concomitant yield increase due to timely planting. Additional savings may be achieved using lower seeding rates.
