Potassium Fertility for Mississippi soybeans
Adequate potassium plant nutrition influences disease resistance, drought stress tolerance, winter hardiness, tolerance to plant pests, and uptake efficiency of other nutrients. Information provided by Mississippi State University discusses this nutrient's importance for soybean production and how to test for it, how to deal with deficiencies, and rates of potassium fertilizer needed to adequately supply soybean potassium requirements. Updated potassium fertilizer rates (for 2020 forward) based on soil fertility tests and cation exchange capacity of the soil at a production site are presented.
