Mississippi Crop Situation Blog--A Valuable Resource

Mississippi’s crop producers have a constant need for the latest information about issues that affect production decisions before and after planting, and after harvest. These issues vary from year to year, and even week to week during the growing season. Thus, current and timely updates to the latest production information is vital for successful crop production.

A valuable source for this information is the Mississippi Crop Situation blog. Articles posted on this site give timely, up-to-date information that producers can use to make decisions that will affect their production potential and profitability for the current growing season. These articles are written by Miss. Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station scientists and Miss. Cooperative Extension Service specialists who conduct the research and extension activities that allow them to have first-hand knowledge of what is happening in the field on a daily or weekly basis.

Much of the soybean information that is published on this site comes from activities that are funded by soybean producers through the checkoff that is administered by the Miss. Soybean Promotion Board (MSPB). That is one reason the link to this site is provided as one of the several information sources on the Management Resources page of MSPB’s website.

If you haven’t already, I encourage you to bookmark the above site and check it several times a week to find out what production issues need your attention at any given time. The wealth of information provided there will be invaluable to you and your farming operation.
