New Tool for Identifying and Managing Soybean Diseases

Dr. Heather Kelly, assistant professor with the UT Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology, has designed a mobile-friendly Disease Field Guide. The guide features segments on foliar diseases, seedling diseases, and pod, stem, and root diseases that affect soybean. For information on the individual diseases in each category that are covered in the guide, click the links below.

Within each of the below linked disease segments, a “General Info” narrative is presented that describes the symptoms of each disease. Other sections include “Management Options”and “Fungicide Resistance”. An “Images” section contains pictorial symptoms of each disease. Within each foliar disease segment, there is also a video in which Dr. Kelly verbally and pictorially explains how to recognize the symptoms of the disease on soybean leaves, and how to distinguish each disease’s symptoms from those of other diseases that exhibit similar symptoms.
