Recently Posted White Papers on MSSOY
I recently posted two White Papers on the website that producers can use to guide them in their use and assessment of soil fertility programs.
One is entitled “Nutrient Management for Soybean Production”. It is accepted that soil with sufficient nutrients is required to realize maximum soybean yield. The contents of this White Paper present a short description of and links to resources than can be accessed to provide guidance for making proper decisions about soil fertility and nutrient management to achieve optimum economical soybean production.
The other is entitled “Soybean Tissue Analysis to Determine Plant Nutrient Status”. Tissue testing is a tool that can be used to assist in identifying nutrient deficiencies in the plant that may be limiting crop growth and yield in the field. Results from tissue testing cannot be used to correct these deficiencies during the growing season, but rather should be used in planning for future nutrient applications or to validate the current fertility program for the soybean production system that is in place. Thus, tissue testing for nutrient sufficiency or deficiency should be used in conjunction with soil tests. The contents of this White Paper contain the latest information about using this tool, and link to resources that provide guidelines for its use.
