Updates Posted on MSSOY--Dec. 2018

Click here for an article that presents data (supplied by Matt Lindsey of Delta Plastics) on Pipe Planner use in the Midsouth for the years 2014-2018. These data indicate that adoption has stalled as of 2018, which indicates that there needs to be an increased and continuing effort to educate producers about the water-saving attributes of this tool that should be used by all Midsouth irrigators. The adoption of this and other water-conserving tools by Midsouth irrigators is of paramount importance to ensure the continued capability of the Mississippi River Valley Alluvial Aquifer (MRVAA) to supply irrigation water for the foreseeable future.

Click here for the Pest Management Guides file on MSSOY. This file has been/is being updated with 2019 Weed, Insect, and Disease Control Guides from the Midsouth states as they become available. The 2019 Weed Control Guides from Mississippi and Tennessee and the 2019 Disease Control Guide from the Univ. of Arkansas are already posted.

The links in the article “Accessing Companies’ Soybean Variety Trait Data” have been updated to ensure producers can easily access up-to-date information about selected varieties from private companies. This will simplify finding the trait data that should be considered when selecting soybean varieties to plant in 2019.

The links in the article “Using Multi-State Variety Trial Results” are being/have been updated with 2019 data so producers can easily access results from Midsouth states’ soybean variety trials. Some of the data in these linked files is still listed as “preliminary”, but these data will be replaced with a final product when it is available.
