Join Us for The Mississippi Soybean Forum

Mark your calendars for the Mississippi Soybean Forum. Sponsored by the Mississippi Soybean Association, Mississippi Soybean Promotion Board and MSU Extension, the Mississippi Soybean Forum will take place at the Capps Learning Center in Stoneville on Monday, November 14 from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

What makes this agenda different from other meetings in the farming community?

Jeremy Jack, President of the Mississippi Soybean Association, says "Farmers are problem-solvers. They make things happen. Our speakers will help farmers identify both challenges and opportunities for the future of soybean production in Mississippi.”

The presenters outlined below will give you a no-nonsense, impartial look at what your fellow farmers are doing to push their yield numbers into triple digits, and what the future holds for the H-2A program.

Perry Galloway, a soybean farmer from Arkansas, has broken the 100 bushel-per-acre yield barrier multiple times and excelled in the Grow for the Green Soybean Yield Contest in Arkansas. Perry will discuss his experiences in learning to produce high-yield soybeans and participating in the soybean yield contest in Arkansas.

Dan Bremer, President of AgWorks LLC, understands a number of soybean farmers across Mississippi utilize and rely on temporary farm labor through the H-2A program in order to successfully produce their crops. AgWorks specializes in helping farmers and other companies navigate the H-2A program. Dan will speak on the future of the H-2A program and about the future of farm labor in general. This information will be valuable to producers who currently utilize H-2A labor or who are considering using the program in the future.

The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 1 p.m. Full breakfast and a catfish lunch will be served by Cicero’s.
