News from United Soybean Board [USB]
In a Dec. 2023 News Release from the USB, it was announced that Lucas Lentsch had been selected as its incoming CEO. Mr. Lentsch comes to USB from Dairy Management Inc., which manages the national dairy checkoff. He is a former South Dakota Secretary of Agriculture, and has an MBA degree from the Univ. of Minnesota. According to Meagan Kaiser, outgoing USB Chair, his knowledge of the commodity checkoff program will prove invaluable to the USB as it continues to administer the National Soybean Checkoff.
The USB is comprised of 77 volunteer farmers who work on behalf of U.S. soybean farmer colleagues to get maximum value from soybean checkoff dollars. They oversee the investment of checkoff funds into research and educational and promotional activities to deliver solutions for the myriad issues that the soybean industry deals with.
