The Plant Management Network has posted two webcasts in their Focus on Soybean series that have useful information for Mississippi soybean producers.

Storage of Soybeans gives objective information about proper levels of temperature, relative humidity, and length of storage time that are best to ensure quality maintenance of stored beans.

ID and Management of Charcoal Rot presents the why’s and wherefore’s of this prominent disease of soybeans.  Since there is little remedial recourse for this disease, the presentation deals mainly with how to determine presence of the disease and management options for its prevention.

I have just learned that the USB-funded free subscriptions to the Plant Management Network will soon expire, and they were not renewed.  So if you want your subscription to continue, you can do so for $38 (USB is a qualifying partner organization) by going to PMN’s website page for subscription services.

Louisiana State University has developed a Soybean Field Guide–Mobile Optimized Web Application for Weeds, Insects, & Diseases.  There is a PC version that can be accessed at http://soybean.lsuagcenter.com by any mobile browser (Android or Apple), and then bookmarked onto the mobile device.  Once the site has been bookmarked, you can access it at any time on the mobile device.  It will then run like a mobile app.
