Using MSSOY to Access Soybean Information
To ensure that you can access all of the information on this website, this updated guide is provided.
The Blog section of the site appears on the home page, with the 3 most recent posts appearing. All blog posts can be retrieved by clicking the “See All” at the bottom of the home page blog section. All blog posts can also be accessed by clicking the “Blog” icon at the top of the home page.
Subject matter content (MSSOY White Papers, links to information on other websites) can be found by clicking the “Resources” icon at the top of the home page. This Resources page is divided into “Topic”, which includes Diseases, Insects, Nematodes, Soil, Varietal, Harvest, Irrigation, Planting, Sustainability, Weeds, and Economics. The “Season” category has sections for Post Harvest to Planting, Planting to R1, R1 to R6, and R6 to Post Harvest. Website items that appear in one or more of the above 11 Topics will also appear in the appropriate Season category or categories.
There are several ways to find the information you are looking for. I suggest that you go to the Resources page, and then check the Topic or Season category that you need information about. Once you have checked the Topic or Season category, you can then search within only that category to narrow your search. When you find the item that you think will contain the information you are seeking, click it. You then see just that article’s title with a brief summary. Click the White Paper item (topmost item in list) in the “Referenced Items” at the bottom of this page to retrieve the actual resource.
Some content on the website does not conveniently fit into one of the above 11 Topics. This will include terminology and conversion factor papers, soybean damage and grade requirements articles, and allelopathy. For these subjects and those you are not sure of, you can use the search box on the top right of the home page.
I have posted a “Links to Soybean Production Information” that you might find useful in your quest for information on the site. This White Paper has the production and management content of the website listed in appropriate categories so that you can retrieve your desired information by clicking on the appropriate link under the listed categories. The categories I have designated should be sufficiently narrow so that you will spend minimum time looking for the information you want. This White Paper is constantly updated to show new items and dates of the latest revisions of each resource.
The MSPB has created videos that show details of research projects and their results, as well as videos about issues that are important to Midsouth soybean production and its improvement. To view these videos on the MSPB YouTube channel, click here.
The MSPB members and staff trust that you will find the website design and functionality to your liking. If you have questions about the website setup and its use and content, please contact me and I will make every effort to answer your query.
