The Arkansas files contain information about yield, maturity date, plant height at maturity, and shatter score. Also included in a separate file are ratings for resistance/susceptibility to stem canker, frogeye leaf spot, reniform and root knot nematodes, and SCN races 2, 4, 5, and 14.
The Louisiana files contain information about yield, days to maturity (days after planting), and plant height at maturity, plus ratings for cercospora leaf blight and frogeye leaf spot.
The Tennessee files contain information about yield, maturity date (days after planting), plant height at maturity, seed quality at harvest, protein and oil content of harvested seed, and shatter score. Also included are ratings for resistance/susceptibility to frogeye leaf spot, SDS, stem canker, and SCN races 2, 3, and 5.
Drs. Trent Irby, Tom Eubank, and Bobby Golden from Mississippi State University have posted Soybean Variety Suggestions for 2014 on the Mississippi Crops Situation site.
In an article posted by Bonnie Coblentz of the MSU Office of Ag. Communications, Dr. Jason Krutz discusses some of the highlights of his MSPB-funded RISER project that was conducted in 2013.
On this website, dates of upcoming irrigation meetings that will be held at four Delta locations in early 2014 are posted. The content of the presentations at these meetings is designed to provide soybean producers with knowledge about how to use some of the tools and new technology that are available to increase irrigation efficiency.
The annual Tristate Soybean Forum will take place on Jan. 3, 2014 in Dumas, Arkansas. I urge you to attend this once-a-year gathering of producers and soybean practitioners and hear about how to manage some of the anticipated issues that you will likely face in your soybean operation.
This will likely be my last blog post in 2013. So, I wish each of you a Happy and Prosperous 2014. Hopefully, all of our efforts on the soybean front will result in ever-increasing yields and efficiency of resource use.
